Dreadnaught – The American Standard
Once in a while you hear an album that just blows you away with a sound that’s awesomely different, strange, even weird. This is one of those albums.
It would be very difficult to categorize these guys. It’s progressive, it’s also rockabilly. It’s King Crimson on dope. Well, on stronger dope anyway. Certainly a unique blend of many things. Certainly well delivered by strong musicianship and strong production.
I could write on for days about the album and this strange band, yet it would only skim the surface and you still would not know, really, what I’m talking about. Dreadnaught certainly live on their own little planet. But that’s a good thing as they’re not tainted by all the BS that’s out there. Definitely heirs to the harder Progressive sound, buy this album and be prepared to witness an audiophonic hyperventilating experience!
