Platypus – Ice Cycles

Platypus is a commercial Progressive band. Not into orchestral arrangements, but rather into simpler, plain, yet good, arrangements.

The album starts off with a great Oh God, which immediately puts into the mood of the album.

A sense of humor is certainly welcome around this band (What kind of name is Platypus?). the last track on the album, Partial to the Bean (A Tragic American Quitology) bears such subtitles as Yoko Ono, Yoko Two-No, Yoko Three-No, Yoko Againo and Yoko Outro.

Generally, a great album, a distinctive sound and something that could easily be played on the radio. It would be about time they played something good.
