Is this guy doomed to being compared with Lou Reed all his life? Absolutely. Then again, that’s not a bad artist to be compared to. One could add a few other influences, the awesome Candy Machine is Lou Reed meets David Bowie.
So why buy Steve Wynn instead of Lou Reed? Because Steve Wynn is not Lou Reed. He may have a similar sound, but that’s all. This is an all in all fabulous album!
Static Transmission is 51 minutes of pure fun the way only a very few artists know how to create. Certainly this album is one you will be listening to regularly for years to come.
