White Willow – Storm Season

A very interesting album from another great Scandinavian band. Storm Season is a blend of good old Classic Genesis and heavy metal. I must admit that at first, I wasn’t too impressed with it, but the disc does grow on you after several listens.

At first it sounds like your run-of-the-mill Prog-Metal album, but give it a chance, it’s uniqueness will sink in and make it quite interesting indeed.

One of the finer points of the album is the beautiful voice of Sylvia Erichsen; worth listening to the album if just for that.

Although there are only seven tracks, the album does clock at a respectable 45 minutes plus, this is due to the length of the songs; 2 tracks over 9 minutes and only one in the 3 minute range.

I believe White Willow have a place on everyone’s CD shelf and that, after a while, this is a CD I’ll be listening to quite regularly.
