Echo Mutt – Virtual Chew Toy

Pure and simple good rock with a kick!

This Maryland band’s first full-length album is bound to catch anyone’s interest. The songs are well written and the sound is great, despite the fact that they used “no less than absolutely state-of-the-art equipment (for 1972)”.

They have their act together and a sound, although reminiscent of some of the great old rock acts (early Styx, Eric Clapton, Rush), that is quite their own. Sort of 60s and 70s rock meet the 90s.

Virtual Chew Toy is one of those albums that are a bit difficult to describe at length but that is just good from start to finish. Something you put in the CD player and don’t press Stop. Great for parties, shooting pool or whatever bout of activity or inactivity.

Good musicians, a great singer and wonderful songs make this an album that won’t gather dust. Echo Mutt are definitely a band to watch.
