Our mutual friend Roy taught me a trick for playing this. Go here and scroll to the bottom:

My favourite is the old Shadows number "Nivram" Its a good 5.
45 years playing and still rubbish.
I wasn't going to do this but, I owe it to my fingers.
Here is a quick sound clip. It will open directly in your media player.
I had fun anyway......
Thats pretty cool 8) 8) Nice job on that one :D
Dazed and confused
Dazed and Confused for sure - 1
Boris the Spider (By The Who) - 1
Disposition - Tool (7 difficulty - some tricky harmonics in there)

I'm no master at bass (although I've been considering making it my primary instead of guitar for group sessions) but I really like Message in a Bottle by the Police. It's incredibly simple, but I really like that song. Very catchy.
More difficult - Duran Duran's Rio. As a band, sometimes they're hit and miss in my opinion, but they nailed it with this song - such a catchy bass line, and fun to practice as well.

I started a thrad like this on the EasySongs forum a while back. Since then I've bought a Beatles bass book.
Lady Madonna is nice and pretty easy.
Come Together is very recognizable, but a little harder.
Revolution looks to be pretty easy.
I suggest getting a book like this. It was only $16.95 and has 28 Beatles songs in it.
My favorite bass lick is "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream. Sounds really cool and is fun and easy to play. That was the first actual bass riff that I learned, you know besides just straight roots.
~Mike the Redneck Rocker.
"The only two things in life that make it worth living are guitars that tune good and firm feeling women" - Waylon
Easy-ish - Every Breath You Take (Police)
Little harder - Synchronicity II (Police)
Medium hard (I can't even start to sing it and play at the same time) - Demolition Man (Police)
I didn't post mine when this thread forst appeared as I was going to use them both in the guess-the-bass-riff thread
Nirvana's Lounge Act & Green Day's Longview.
Learn some PRIMUS!!! Really, Les Claypool is amazing. "My Name is Mud" sounds pretty easy.
Disclaimer: I know nothing about bass.
Good point, Wynona's Big Brown Beaver has a pretty fine bassline too... but the costumes are scary

Love that video and the tune.

Here's another one; I think this is a gem.
Crush, by Jennifer Paige.
It's fun to play - simple enough for beginners, yet the chorus is very catchy and engaging enough to keep your attention. It's a great bass line for any type of practice. I can honestly say I really love playing this.
All I can say is check it out - I think a player from any skill level can use this song to practice with. Great metronome piece.

Down on the Corner - CCR
and since I've used on on "Spot The Bassline" - The Joker - Steve Miller.
