Some of you may recall my mention in the Freebies Forum of Hartke introducing strings. I ordered a set and they came on Tuesday!

The set I chose is the .045 - .105 , 4 string, long scale.
These are nickle wound / hex core.

I put them on an old Ibanez TR, and I've been playing on them since Tuesday. I'm quite impressed. They really make that P-style bass sound completley different.
These strings are so bright, in fact, that I had to roll the Presence and Treble on the amp back just a bit and up the Bass a little. Anyone with a P-style that wishes for a bridge p'up should consider these.

The winding is very smooth for Round-wounds, and after two tunings all string-stretch was gone! I can't find any fault with these strings.

I haven't seen them in my LGS (Local Guitar Shop) yet, so I don't know what the retail price is. If they are under $35 (US), I'll sure get a set for my Fender.

:)

That's pretty cool. I looked them up:

$10 for a set of strings is incredible!
