Nope. I have a friend that won't even jam with me and he plays bass guitar and drums. The closes to being in a band for me was back in middle school eons ago (12 years).

learn a better song like good riddance from green day. or if you want a song that is just pretty easy fingerpicking switchfoot's "let that be enough" is a good song to learn.

Hard to say, I can't get a decent answer from him. My guess is that he maybe busy helping his girlfriend and doesn't get to practice as often as I do. As a joke once I played fast as I could over some scales and I think it scared him. It was sloppy playing. He has trouble with chord shapes too, but who doesn't as a beginner. Heck I've been playing on and off for 14 years. Didn't play at all for the past 3 years and I'm still a beginner.
