There's something in there playing notes at twice the speed in the first part, but I don't think it's the guitar that we're focusing on. You might try doubling that part up, though, see if it works better for you. Also in the first part - that open E string is from another guitar I'm sure (and it keeps going, but quieter, in the second part), but the dissonance it causes on the last two notes are an important part of the sound of the riff. No reason not to put it in when you're playing on one guitar :)
