Out of all the sites out there this is the one I kepp coming back to. Figured I would set up an account. Anyway, I have been playing for almost 6 months but feel I haven't progressed as far as I should. I participate in a private lesson once a week and must say I have learned a lot but still not content. It seems that I always learn bits and pieces.(eg riffs) but would like to be able to get through a whole song. One thing that the instructor doesn't do is chord progression. His style is more picking and bluesy/rock techniques(power chords etc)
Another issue is that there is so much out there as a reference. I see books on tab, melodies, combination etc. Ideally I want to play some cool kids tunes for my boy and songs that I like to jam too.
This is more a cry for some advice on how to liven it up a bit.
