Anyone know how to change strings on a Jagmaster? I have no instructions, and have never changed strings on an electric before (but done it many times on acoustic).
Hi :D
As far as I know, the Squire Jagmaster has an old style Strat type bridge/trem... (6 screw)
It's pretty much like changing the strings on an acoustic.
I'm taking it that you know how to unwind the string and remove the string end from the tuner end....?
You might be puzzled by the back plate (usually white plastic) on the back of the body, held on by screws.
Just take all the screws out and take the backplate off.
You don't ever have to put it back on (I never have on my 2 Strats :D )
Just put it, and the screws in the guitar case accessory area.
Then, push the old string thru the bridge saddle - it will come out the back of the guitar.
You should see the 6 holes in the inertia block for the trem.
Stick a new string in the proper hole in the back of the guitar - and push thru to the front.
Restring....
Here's the proper method to insure a good lock.

Good luck

So - in the pic on the 4th one down....
Take the 6 screws out and take off that back plate. (the white plastic rectangle).
IMO - NEVER put it back on.
It will make string changing much easier.

And it will increase the cool factor of your guitar.
Ok, thanks everyone. I think I got a handle on this now. Just didn't realize had to take that plate off in the back. Also, the strings were a tad stuck as I hadn't ever changed the strings on this - and haven't used it in a few years.
