classical sitting positions for rock guitar?

Isn't classical guitar typically finger picked?

I tried a classical posture early on, but I found flat picking near sideways was awkward, even if fretting was easier. Rock and other genres tend to be flat-picked, so it's a tradeoff of what's easy for the fretting hand and what's easy for the picking hand.
