Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Hi All,

Can anyone help me out with the strumming pattern to Every Rose Has Its Thorn (Poison)?

I've found a pattern that gives me a similar sound:

1 2 + a 3 + a (triple compound)

or

1 2 + a 3 + a 4 (quad compound) then chord change.

Am I on the right track? I don't have anymore Poison CDs (my brother gave them away, haha) to reference.
