I'm trying to make a chart for myself, so i can get more familair with the fretboard.

I'm looking for some free software that will allow me to create a file that has a fretboard diagram, tab and music staff above one-another. This way i can begin to get a feel for realtionships on the board.

Know where i can go?

Thanks.
Mart.

You can start with the fretboard map on my pages below. It has the notes on the strings but not everything you are looking for.

There is also an online learning tool for the fretboard that is also linked from my pages called Fretboard Warrior.

Thanks for your replies, but it is not really what i'm after.

My friends and i have made a little study group, and i am going to make a fretboard map that not only shows the position on the fretboard, but directly below shows the musical notation on a staff and on a tab diagram. I'm also hoping to create a simeilar chart for the scales and chords etc, and my aim is that by looking at it this way, you'll get a better feel for the fretboard, musical notation and other musical attributes.

I could make this on something like MS Painr, but it look crappy, and i was hoping to create something a little more slick looking.

Thanks.
Mart.

I would suggest you download Power Tab editor.
When you put a fret number on the tab (which relates directly to the strings as well) it also puts the note on the musical staff. You can even print out your results.

Hi. I know exactly what you are looking for as I spent a lot of time searching for the same thing. I found a site that has this as well as other good theory stuff: http://scenicnewengland.net/guitar/notate/notes.htm This site shows each string separately. There's another site that shows the entire first five frets on all six strings outlined in music notation as well as tab but I cannot seem to find it now. I did copy and paste the visual for my own use. If you want to give me your email, I can send the jpeg to you.

Hope this helps.

There's also this Notes relative to strings

Wow, the tool on François' page is great. I like the fact that there is a time limit on the exercises. It helps me focus.
