Well, only one reason I guess LOL, there are several, but I ran into one today.
I'm learning the song To Zanarkand from the official Squaresoft guitar book, and ran into an instance where it's not comfortable to make a switch comfortably (it goes from a D chord to 3xxx13.....I just can't switch to that, my had severely cramps), but to go from a D chord to a 3xx5x3, is much much easier because I can just barre the 3rd fret.
I never though I'd see the day where I'd say "Oh it's easier just to play the barre". :D :D
In Space, no one can hear me sing!
Excellent - I look forwards to the day that will happen for me too :D :D
(well not the cramps but finding it easier to play a barre  )
Its great when a little trickle of theory comes in to your playing. I've noticed I'm looking for easier ways to play difficult pieces, trying to switch things around to get the same effect. Its cool.
Probably not as cool as a Squaresoft Guitar book though! I guess you enjoyed all the Final Fantasy music? My fave was and is always Final Fantasy 7. The whole thing was epic. What others do you play out of it?
Thanks!!
Kroikey, I'm a big fan of the FF Music as well, it's tough as balls to play though...well, alot of the pieces are, some aren't too bad....To Zanarkand isn't that bad.
As far as the games go, FF VII, will hold a place in my heart for the best of the series....FF VIII a VERY close 2nd....the music in VIII is my favorite....Eyes on Me specifically, I'm working on that next.
I've even got 2 Final Fantasy tracks on My album, Breezy, from FF VIII, and Kids on the Corner from FF VI :)
Heres a link to "My Mind" from Final Fantasy VIII that I did a LONG time ago!

It's a lot easier to play good leads when you know the notes and how to use them. Lots of people get by without it, too though! I used to but am way better off after.
