Totally gonna rephrase this question.
Are mexi HSS guitars able to be modded with an S-1 switch?
I did a search but S-1 is too short and it won't work it.

does the volume knob have a switch that depresses in the middle?

No it doesnt I just read up more on the S-1 switch, and in fact I've been on a certain auction website trying to find that specific preamp. Now I need to know if it'll interchange with the Mexi Strat. I really really don't know my Fender guitars, I don't know if that switch only works on active guitars or anything. Still reading up on it.
