I agree with everybody else, only take up the drums if you really love the instrument. For me, that would be OK, I originally wanted to be a drummer. But you gotta love the instrument.
I also agree about programming a drum machine. It has been done, the Smashing Pumpkins used a drum machine for about 2 years until they found Jimmy Chamberlin. :wink:

Good drummers ALWAYS play from the feet, up. Keep that in mind. You might also remember it's good to also co-ordinate whatever the guitar pick is up to with the foot pedal!
