Hi all,

I have been trying to transcribe this song. It's a "latinesque" tune from a video game which I played when I was a lot younger.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIDyYb-oPbw a Piano version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYVH1h6-YPw&feature=player_embedded Original

I have figured out the melody and I believe, it's in E phryigan.

Having figured out the melody I have been trying to work out what is going on in the harmony but I can't seem to make sense of it. I have tried all possible chords that go with phriyigan and they don't seem to work.

After listening to it a few times, it sounds like single notes(triplets) or stacked notes but certainly not chords.

Got any ideas ? Thanks, Chib

Hey there,

Have had a listen to the harmony just briefly, I hear double stops and yes I hear phrygian also.

Hear are the notes I heard in the first few seconds

E---------------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------------
G------9--------10--------9----------7-----------------------
D-----10--------12-------10---------9--------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------------------

The rhythm is playing some pattern using 16th notes. This should give you a good start to learning the song.

Cheers,

Gatface
