I've been considering this for a while now and my choices are narrowed down to either a Squier 60's Classic Vibe or a MIM Fender Strat HSS.
The Fender is $200 more, with the main differences being I love the look of the Fender with aged cherry top and it has 1 humbucker pickup.
The only thing I like better about the Squier is it costs $200 less.
Should I expect that the hardware on the Fender would be better quality or about the same? Since I don't know how to play and this will be an instrument to learn on I'm not sure how much difference that will make.
I'd appreciate any opinions.
Thanks!
Squier is Fender's low-cost range. You should be fine with one - Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro plays a Squier

That's the tough call. Both are great guitars but I have to say that the Custom Vibe are really exceptional. Save the $200 and get a comparable quality guitar that I don't think you'll regret. The Fender HSS one is price just right but the Custom Vibe hits at a price way below its quality. So I would go for the custom vibe based on value.
