I've been trying to develop my legato technique for about six months using various lessons from the internet. I feel like I'm not improving. Surely I need to practice more and have more patience, but in your experience what exercises and lessons worked for you when learning and developing your legato technique?
Developing your finger strength is part of the whole. You can apply any legato technique into your practice routine now. Try running scales with slides, bends, hammer-ons and pull-offs while paying close attention to your vibrato. Also, see if you can keep your vibrato in time with your metronome (Usually by half or quarter note).
I practice kurt rosenwinkel style smoothly and always with a metronome. You guys have to check out this really cool gadget I've got. I never used to like using a metronome because it's #1 ugly #2 has the irritating click. But this one is different https://playgoodguitar.com/whats-so-good-about-the-soundbrenner-pulse
