If anyone hase any info/ exp. with this guitar, please fill me in!!!

If you are askiing about the Epiphone LP Special II they are not too bad. Don't usually play great out of the box with with a decent setup not too bad. Remember it is truly a starter guitar. Look around there are other good LP knockoffs in the same price range.

Nope try Harmony Central

If it's a vintage Japanese made one, it may be an okay cheapie. Just check it over carefully and see if you can find out where it was made.
Another place to look http://www.rondomusic.net/electricguitar-ss3.html
But I would suggest the Agile series rather than the SX.
I wouldn't bother with the Epiphones unless you get a real deal second hand.

Tried out an Epiphone LP Special II the other day, seemed like an alright guitar for the money (was £89). :)

Me thinks Vic got his second hand for 60 pounds.

It's not so much a question of them being bad, they are usually okay. But on cheaper guitars it becomes a question of value for money. Smaller quality companies genereally provide better value for money than the big brand names.

Isn't this coming under the same category of - which is better one - Fender American or MIM ?

I'm not exactly sure what we're comparing anymore :D

I'd love to see some detailed photos and description of the electra.

But comparing Epis to Agile for $150 Epi Bolt neck and laminate body, no binding
Agile set neck, solid Mahogany, binding (all of a relatively cheap grade I'm sure, but it's there)
But Rondo itself is only worth it if you're in the States. If you can find the guitar from the same factory under a different label, then it's might be worth it.

A friend of my sons bought a les paul II special and it literally fell apart!
Its not that Epiphone dont make good guitars its just that ,that particular range is the cheapest and worst they make.
For comparison its similar to the Squire Affinity Series. Its not that Fender make bad guitars its just at that price range there are much better options available.
If your in the Uk check out "Vintage" guitars. You'll get a fixed neck decent pickups and reasonable quality lectrics and tuners. All for about £140.00. http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintageelectric.html

Rahul: MIA vs MIM is comparing two price classes. However, with epi you can usually find better guitars for the same money. If I had the money to buy a Epi LP standard I would get a Dean Evo Special Select. Or rather, if I had the money and didn't think LP-style guitars blow so much. :P

Chacun son gout :D
I had a Knopfler DVD on while (pretending) to sort out my room, evertime I heard a sound I really liked and turned around, it was an LP. But I will admit a proper one is heavy. if I had this to do all over again, I'd buy one of Godin's mahogany LG series and practice the songs on that for a few years.

I find reviews on Epiphones confusing. They get really mixed reviews. Everything from "It sounds just as good as a Gibson" to "The pickups suck, change them out!" Makes my brain hurt. lol.
