Not sure this is in the right section but does anyone know of software that will play MP3 files but allow you to slow down the song or to repeat the song so that learning a song can be made easier?

Thanks in advance
Jim

Here's a plugin for winamp that slows things down nicely without a drop in pitch...

this also looks interesting but I have never tried it.

Thanks to the both of you!! I downloaded both suggestions and have been playing around with them. The ronimusic thing is a really nice neat tight package but cost like $44. Looks well worth it.

But for putting up with a little, not much, hassle I have been able to make the winamp thing work as well.

I really think this is going to make studying the songs my instructor is having me learn, much easier. I can slow it down to my tempo, loop it, and play it over and over. I was even able to set start and end points so that during the more difficult sections I would just play them again and again.

This is great.

You could also import the mp3 in audacity. There you can do what you want, like change tempo, loop sections and a lot more like changing pitch and record yourself playing to the song.

I use the Amazing Slow Downer from ronimusic - it is excellent. Well worth the $40 for me..
