I'm trying to pick up a basic punk song by ear and I'm stumped. Thought someone here might help me get unstuck. The song is "This is LA" by the Briggs.
I've been able to figure out (I think) that the song is in A flat major, which was very helpful in picking out the individual notes. Where I'm stumped is where the power chords start in.
Here's a youtube video of a kid who's got the song down perfect, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the power chords are from 0:11 to 0:17 in this video. At least nothing I play sounds even close to right:
Is it perhaps in an alternate tuning, or are the chords not basic power chords?
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!
