the first few weeks are tough...tough on your fingers...your mind...your will.......the brain has so much new stuff being thrown at it...it cant cope...so you wont know exactly what you can or want to achieve.....hopefully your teacher will guide you.

but above all keep at it...no matter how tough it seems.....the rewards are many...you WILL be a musician

I completely agree with Ballybiker's words of wisdom. :D

When you start out, you not only don't know anything but you don't even know what the range of topics are that you need to know something about. :? :?:

For instance you might learn a few chords and then wonder why you still sound way off. So then you might learn more about all the jobs your strumming hand has to do, and so on.

To begin with you do need to take a fair bit on trust and just plug on until the fog clears a bit and you can see the way. If you have a good teacher or mentor it's a huge bonus, but it's still possible without.

As you progress, not only will the different aspects of music become clearer, but so will the path to follow. Your long and short term personal goals will also become easier to set once you have more knowledge and skills.

Enjoy it, it's wonderful experience.

Cheers,

Chris
