Hello all. I'm new to the forum. I've been reading many of your posts and they have been very helpful! I am wanting to learn how to play and need to buy a guitar. I'm looking at an Epiphone DR 100 at Musicians Friend. Not sure what type of strings it comes with but I am wanting to get strings that are lighter gauge but not too light that break easily. I need to build calluses so I don't want to go too light but not too heavy either. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
David

I would spend some time playing the guitar you end up getting. After a time you will get a better handle on what you want in a set of strings

any guitar you purchase should be properly set up. when buying a guitar in person the store should automatically set it up. when purchasing on line assume it was not set up and take it to a music store.
what is a guitar set up? search topics on this forum.
