Is the sound of the pick hitting the pick guard normal when strumming or do I need to be strumming softer? I practice unplugged a lot, I'm sure when plugged up I wouldn't hear it but I don't know. Thoughts?

Don´t worry about it, this is totally normal. Just focus on switching between chords on time and getting some rhythm going. All the best and good luck! -Henry
