I get what you have to do to palm mute, but whenever I try, it doesn't sound the same. I dont know why.
You put the bottom part of your palm, on the saddle/strings? Or just, the strings? Because when I try to do it, it completely mutes all the strings.
If you have any simple-noob refrences, id appreciate it.

Thanks.

You're going too high up on the strings. Stay way low on the strings, like down on the saddles.

and it is pressure too. I call my style more damping than full out muting. I let the strings vibrate a bit. I can feel it.
it will come to you and be second nature.
just play and do it withoput concentrating. in time you will get the right feel that you want.
it is a great technique I am glad you are working on it.

It will require some experimentation to get it right. If you are dampening the strings too much, slide your hand further back, so less of the hand is dampening the strings. It should be right on the bridge - if you need to dampen more, move toward the nut, less - toward the bridge. It only takes a very small adjusment to make a big change. Fool around until you get it where you want it.
