I'm a beginner guitar player, I have a Samick a.k.a. Greg Bennett guitars that closely resemebles a Squire. I've just had to re-string it and the problem I'm running into is when I try to tune it the strings are just too loose. The string will be the right tone but just be so loose. I'm using Ernie Ball Super Light strings. If anyone could suggest why this might be happening and a possible remedy. Thank you in advance.

If they're too loose, does that mean you're an octave lower than you should be?
