How long did it take you guys to get used to your beasts?

About 7 and half months.

Nice looking instrument, and you look every inch the bluesman!

Question - what gauge strings are you using? I notice you've got a wound third....do you use heavier strings on a reso than a normal acoustic, as a rule?

:D :D :D

It's a 12 fret to the body guitar. Not a big deal, the 14 fret guitar was a modern innovation in the late '20s-early '30s after National brought out their Tricone (which this is a copy of.) Takes a little getting used to if you've been playing 14 fretters.

Nice guit box! I have a cheapie Rogue spider reso but the tailpiece broke .... been meaning to order a new one so I can get it up and running again. They are a unique and interesting instrument for sure.

I don't think reso's are really different. It's just the sound.....

Kinda clangy-jandy. Like a bango is to G tuning. The same but kinda different.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
