in this tab the "r" stands for return....what is a return?

You bend the 12th fret (12b) a whole step (14) and then let the note ring as you bring the bend back down (r12).

The"r" stands for release. The 12th fret "G" is bent up 2 frets, sounding an "A", then "released" back down to the 12th fret.

ok so u bend from the 12th up to the 14th and then back down to the 12th and then hold the 12th?
