new to the guitar...got a 'starter" electric strat copy....some of the strings are "buzzing" on the fret when I strum them (like the low E)...is there a way to stop that?

I would recommend a new set of strings (if they are old) and a setup by a guitar tech. It is not that much money (~$30-40 for a basic setup around here) and well worth the investment. Not only will it fix the buzzing (if it *is* possible to fix), it will make your guitar overall easier to play and make your learning experience so much better.

If you are not familiar with adjusting your guitar, you should bring it to a tech to do. Call a local guitar store to see if they can do it, or recommend one that can.

If you are adventurous, you can try adjusting the bridge/string height. It is relatively harmless to try.

If the problem is a bent neck, this probably won't fix it for you and it may need an truss rod adjustment.

thanks for the recommendation on the tech...I took it to the one here in town and he was able to do a number of adjustments to eliminate the vibrations....appreciate the help!
