Can someone tell me what software is used to create the tabs/charts for the lessons here on GN? Really want something I can use to do my own and none of those I've tried have been very satisfactory. Thanks.

It's called "MusEdit" and here is the website:

Don't know if you've ever seen the notation / tablature I've used in the magazine articles I've written in the past for Acoustic Guitar Magazine or Play Guitar! Magazine - that's Finale and here is their website:

Hope this helps.

Peace

David, I didn't know you wrote for Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Do you still do articles for them? I've just bought a subscription to them and am waiting for my first magazine.

Be cool to read some of what you put in there.

Because of the work I've been doing on the book, I've not written for them in a while. But I'm still in contact with them. Just yesterday the editor and I were hashing over some ideas for possible pieces for their upcoming issues. Keep your fingers crossed!

Peace

I would say get either Guitar Pro (www.guitar-pro.com) or Power Tab ( http://www.power-tab.net/guitar.php ). Most tabs that aren't in text-form are written in either of these formats. Guitar Pro is NOT free, but it can open Guitar Pro files as well as Power Tab files. Power Tab is free, but is also less full-featured than Guitar Pro. Should be more than enough to suit most people's needs though.

If you aren't going to pay for Guitar Pro, then I suggest you go for Tux Guitar over Power Tab... it imports both formats, and is much easier to use than PowerTab... and it's Free
