I just tabbed out my first song. "A Better Son/Daughter" by Rilo Kiley.
It's really only the chords from the chorus but it's the first time i've ever done this so I wanted to make sure it's correct...

A Better Son/Daughter
Rilo Kiley

G Em C G
And sometimes when you're on you're really fucking on

C G D
And your friends all sing along and they love you

G Em C G
But the lows are so extreme that the good seems fucking cheap

Em C D
And it teases you for weeks in its absense.

I tried to mimic how I usually see it set up on tab sites.
Can you guys just check to see if I did that correctly?

Thanks.

"I started this gangsta poop."

I dont know the song. however, you should move the chord letters over the correct lyric; it helps with the timing on the chord changes.

You have to use the "Code" tags if you want it to line up correctly. Dogbite is right about it making it easy to get the timing down. I am not familiar with the song though so I cant comment on the rest.

i don't know the song either, but it looks like the standard G e C D thing. so it may be right..
and about the format: i saw different ways to write down the chords..
one involves writing the chords one line over the lyrics at the right places and one involves wirting the chords inbetween the lyrics, separated from them through square brackets like this:

lyrics her lyric[G]s here lyrics here [C]... and so on..

and ther sure are more complicated ways to note the chords....

And what is great about that method is that you can use software like guitartex on Linux to do some pretty printing. I even found a PHP script will do a pretty print when I put those on my web page. That method is called Chordpro format, I believe.
