ok, so I got this riff stuck in my head, a pop punk sort of thing, and I know I've heard the song before but I can't for the life of me think of the name or the band and I want to find the rest of the tab to learn.
This is what I have so far:
x = palm mute
e------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------
G---8-----8x 8x 8x 8x 8x 8x-----12-----10----8-----5
D---8-----8x 8x 8x 8x 8x 8x-----12-----10----8-----5
A---6-----6x 6x 6x 6x 6x 6x-----10-----8------6-----3
E--------------------------------------------
That's all I've got...it's probably like the first 4 seconds of the song. Can anyone help me out?
could be a million songs depending on how you strum the rythym and your set-up. I personally don't listen to pop-punk, so In particular, I don't know. Good luck!
It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
it's fast...all down strokes, kind of green day-esque
and yes, i've scoured my iTunes but to no avail
Hey, RRR - any chance you could do a recording of that riff? Just play it into a PC mic? Might give us a better idea.....
Just a thought,
:D :D :D

unfortunately, I don't have a mic to do this with. Additionally, I might be playing it out of key, the tab I made was as close as I could get it to sound. I was hoping that someone more experienced would be able to play it themselves and maybe hear what I was getting at.
Note: I edited the tab in my first post...I think it's 6 palm muted stroked played really past instead of four.
Probably wrong, but here's my guess:

nope, definately not as heavy as that
like i said before, really pop punk sounding with green day, sum 41 type distortion/over drive
It's difficult, because we can't hear the tab you wrote... But do you know the note duration? The tempo? I could try to translate it on Power Tab and that way, I could hear it and maybe help you..
Now, I listen to the Pop / Punk Rock songs that I had on my computer and I found : It's up to you by Pennywise... But I guess it's not what you're searching for...

Karma Chameleon by the Culture Club?
Used to be, was a part of me felt like hiding.. but now it comes through. Comes through to you.
Karma Chameleon by the Culture Club?
no
i think it's much recent, like late 90s early 2000s, at the peak of the pop-punk popularity of blink-182, sum 41 and the like
