I'm hear a thunk sound when I strum some songs. I check and make sure all my strings are ringing clear one by one. I am holding my pick loosely and try not to hit them to hard. What else could I be doing wrong? I heard it when learned "Morning Has Broken" and figured out I was hitting too hard and remedied the problem. But on other songs - am hearing again - "Come Monday" - can't seem to get rid of the sound no matter what.

Usually, for me, the "thunk" sound will be caused by the pads of the fingers touching the adjacent string. Changing the angle of your wrist will correct this.
