Thanks to you all the all the advice you have been giving. So in some cases loud is good but only when it is needed. Maybe if I show my friend to this site so as he can see the ideas of other people who play in band situations he may start to think of us all.
The other thing we are not young musicians appart from the drummer the youngest is me and I`m nearly 42 so my hearing is very sensitive.
Satchmo who just replied last is also a good friend of mine and knows this chap so maybe he can help me with all the suggestions you have all givern to me.
