Okay, so I've got Blackbird down ... what's the next fingerpicking song I should learn that's pretty easy enough?

They're all fairly easy pick one and go!

Blackbird is a fairly atypical fingerpicking song in that it uses a lot of left hand positions but keeps the right hand very simple. Most fingerpicking songs are the other way round, and use more fingers and strings for the right hand.

If you enjoy playing Blackbird you might like to look at some easy classical pieces. For example, Tarrega's Lagrima starts off using a very similar technique to Blackbird. It's like having honey poured into your ears. Mmmmm.....

I've been having a lot of fun with Kirk's (Known as 'Planetalk' here at GN) Starry Starry Night lesson.

What's next after Blackbird?

Thought it'd be obvious - Bluebird from the Band on The Run album - then Freebird - then Three Little Birdies....Bird Dog....then something by Three dog Night - then Nights in White Satin.....

Logical, Jim!

:D :D :D

Vic

OK I was funning there - but actually, Bluebird isn't a bad song to learn....seriously!
