yet another tab question ;)

The x's on the tab indicate that you are to strike the strings with the pick, whilst muting them with your fretting hand. That is, you rest one or more of the fingers on your fretting hand over the strings indicated with x's, but without actually fretting the notes. Then, when you strike those strings with the pick, you create a :chunk: type of noise.

In this case, I'd play the chord indicated on the tab, and when you get to the x's, slightly release pressure on the fretboard until you are no longer actually fretting the notes, but are still resting your finger (or fingers) on the strings, then strike with the pick across all three strings.

Looks like a formatting issue, the text editor you're using has broken the lines of text, making things go awry. Try turning the "wrap text" option off in your text editor, and that should solve the problem.

I think it should look something like this:
