Heres another real easy one for us all.

Yes its Ringo's party piece from the Help album. Not written by any of the fab four but suits Ringo to a tee with some nice country style picking riffs I think done by George. Overall one fun song

I can't claim any credit for this as I lifted the lead guitar line tabs from another tab site. I did this because I can't write this stuff yet and I wanted to give some of our more advanced lead riff/pickers something on this. I'd guess from the tab that its in drop D tuning as the bottom E is shown as D (Am I right on thinking that?) Here goes then:
Intro:
D G
e|-------------------------------------------3----3--3-------------------
B|--------------3---------1-----7---------7--3h5--5--5p3--3--------------
G|--0--------------0--h2-----------7--h9------------------4--0-----------
D|-----4--2--0---------------0-------------------------------------------
A|------------------------------------------------------------------75--
D|--------------------------------------------------------------/9-------

Verse 1:

(G)They're gonna put me in the(C)movies

(G)They're gonna make a big star out of(D)me

(G)They'll make a film about a man that's sad and(C)lonely

And(D)all I gotta do is Act(G)Naturally.

Chorus:

Well I(D)bet you I'm gonna be a(G)big star

I might(D)win an Oscar You can never(G)tell

The(D)movies gonna make me a big(G)star

'Cos(A)I can play the part so(D)well.

Verse 2:
Same chords as above

We'll make a film about a man that's sad and lonely
And begging down upon his bended knee
I'll play the part But I won't need rehearsin'
Cos all I gotta do is Act Naturally.

Guitar Solo (play this twice):
D G
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
D|--------------0------------0---------5--5------------------------------
A|---------------------3------------3--------b(7)5-----------------------
D|--5--4--2--0-----/7-----0-----/7------------------7b(9)--5-------------

Chorus:
Same chords as above

Well I bet you I'm gonna be a big star
I might win an Oscar You can never tell
The movies gonna make me a big star
'Cos I can play the part so well.

Verse 3:
Same chords as above

Well I hope you come and see me in the movies
Then I know that you will plainly see
The biggest fool that ever hit the big time
And all I gotta do is Act Naturally.

Outro:
D G
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
D|--------------0------------4-------4--5--5-----------------------------
A|---------------------3--------5/7-----------b(7)5----------------------
D|--5--4--2--0-----/7-----0--------------------------7b(9)--5------------

Hope you all enjoy it, comments, critisism, please go away Dogsbody!, extra tabs, different chords all welcome.

Cheers for now

Chris

Hi Chris, you got a lot of font wrapping there on your tab, making it difficult to read, try writing it in shorter bars something like my post in this forum to "mitchel" https://www.guitarnoise.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14127 I use notepad with size 10 courier as it seems to work best

BTW fancy a jam on Sunday ?

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

Hi Rodders,

Well I had another go, edited it using notepad and courier 10 font, coded it. Looked perfect on the preview. Submitted it and got wrapped again.

At least the chords ended up correct. Sorry to all you riff/pickers Rodders.

I got it from guitaretab.com originally. If you go there youll find a whole lot more tab for this song of different guitar solos. I should'nt ecourage defection from GN though.

I'll stick to submitting only chords for now until I can suss this tab thing out.

I'll call you about jamming Sunday, not sure if I can make it this week.

Sorry to all again

Chris

Hi its me again,

I don't get this! following my hasty editing efforts on this at work early this morning trying not to be caught by the boss not doing work.

I've looked at it again my computer at home and the tab has miraculously unwrapped. My God I fixed it.

Can you use it now Rodders?

I'll go back into my shell now! "Coo its dark in here"

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,
Sorry, didnt mean to be-little your efforts. I hadnt actually read that you had dragged it from another site, I just looked at the tab and I know from experiance how frustrating it can be to have worked on something and it turn to crap when you post it.
Just had another look and my PC is still showing wrap (have you got a new widescreen? lol)

Ive had a go at the solo tab and am about to code it in now so we shall see what happens.........
solo lick

E------------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------------
G------------------------------------------------
D--------------------0-------5-5-----------------
A----------0-----3--------3------7b(9)-5---------
D--5-4-2-0---/7----0---/7----------------7b(9)-5-

Well looks ok on the preview now for the ultimate test (posting)

Hi Rodders,

No offence taken Rod,

I'm at work again. It seems that advertisement panels on this site are reducing page widths as my tabbing is wrapped here. At home I have an ad blocker on my computer and therefore get a bigger page width, hence no wrapping.

But, your tab is ok on my work computer. Confused! I am

I'd better get back to real work now.

Cheers

Chris

Chris

Its a bummer this wrapping ain't it!!

I have had no end of problems with this, and the only answer in my opinion is to get the preview sorted - it up to the tech guys on this site to make the preview match "reality" - so if its going to wrap in reality, show it as wrapped on the preview. Then all our hard work won't end up with us pulling our hair out when its posted.

Well done for trying mate, good to see you posting so much

All the best

Matt

Not actually had a go at this yet, before I do....

Am I right in thinking the b(7) 5 means bend the note up from the fifth fret to the 7th before you strike it, then release back down to the fifth?

I'm afraid I don't know Vic, sounds feasible though.

As I said when I posted this I'm not a tabster yet. I just pasted it in with the chords for you more advanced guy's.

Calling Rodders!!

Can you help Vic here?

I need to learn lots more about tabs and how to play em.

I'm pretty sure youve got it right Vic. I had a look on the site Chris dragged it from and going by the guys key guide its a pre-bend on the 5th, play it and then release to normal pitch and then play that note.
