This is an Audioslave song that sounds great on solo acoustic as well. The strumming pattern is fairly easy to pick up and is really distinctive from listening to the song - I don't know how to describe it and i'm sure someone else here can do a better job than me. The chords are also very easy for beginners. Give it a whirl!

Thank you for this one! Could someone throw out a good starting suggestion on the strumming pattern? I think I have it until I hit the chorus, then it baffles me. Any help is appreciated.
I just took real estate in your mind.
Goto this site and you can see the video yourself.

select Audioslave, then it will show a list of videos to view. Choose "Doesn't Remind" - Acoustic wait for it to load and then click onto full screen.
You can see his strumming pattern and style for pretty much the whole song.
There is also several people covering it on acoustic on youtube which can help with the strumming pattern as well
( http://www.youtube.com )
This song is also tabbed out in the summer 2006 issue of "Play Guitar!" magazine.
They suggest a strumming pattern of:
Verse & bridge
E A E
1&2&3&4& 1&2&3&4&
DUDU UDU DUDU UDU
Chorus
E D A E
1&2&3&4& 1&2&3&4&
D D D D D DU UD
I hope I read and transcribed that correctly.
I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head
So I looked like I was deep
Also remember on the last line it's (A) an (A) y (E) thing. Hit the lowest part of the chord on the first A and the higher stings on the next finishing on a full open E strum let ring out. Nice YouTube video, too. Interesting to watch that acoustic version.
