Boom- P.O.D.

This is a great sounding, fun, and very easy song to play.
This song is in Drop-D, so you will need to tune your 6th string
down one Whole step to D. Now also, if I remember correctly, you
need to tune all strings down a whole step and then the 6th string
down another whole step. But you do not need to do that to learn the
song.

Intro-

e------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
b------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
g------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
d------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a—0h-2-2-2-2-0-0-0---0h-2-2-2-2-0-0-0---5-5-5-5--5-5-5-5—-5h-7-7-7-7-
d—0h-2-2-2-2-0-0-0---0h-2-2-2-2-0-0-0---5-5-5-5--5-5-5-5—-5h-7-7-7-7-

e------------
b------------
g------------ X 4
d------------
a--0-0-0---
d--0-0-0---

The first two times this is played palm-muted, then you gradually let up on the palm
mute and increase your attack and volume. Sounds cool.

This same riff is repeated during the verses. The same technique of palm- muting and
gradually opening up is used. During the first two times through during the verses just hit
the 6th string only.

Chorus- The chorus is easy, but sounds great.

----Boom!----------------Boom!------------------

e------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
b------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
g------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
d----2----------------------2-----------------------7-7-7-7-7-0-----7-7-7-7-7-0-
a----2--------------5-------2--------------5-------7-7-7-7-7-0-----7-7-7-7-7-0-
d----2-------2--------------2-------2--------------7-7-7-7-7-0-----7-7-7-7-7-0-

I find that note at the 5th fret on the A string sounds better with a big
upstroke. That note needs a big accent.

OK, just one more part to this song. I guess it's the bridge.

Bridge

e------------------------------------------------------------
b------------------------------------------------------------
g------------------------------------------------------------ X 4
d------------2-------------2----------2/---4----2p----0--
a-------2-------------2-------------------------------------
d--2-------------5--------------5---------------------------

Then,

e--------------------------------------------
b--------------------------------------------
g-------------------------------------------- X 2
d----2-2-----2-2-----7-7-7-7-7-0---
a----2-2-----2-2-----7-7-7-7-7-0---
d----2-2-----2-2-----7-7-7-7-7-0---

That's all the parts to this song. It is very simple. But it sounds great.

Boom

I never knew that a kid like me
Could take his mic around the world and flash the big S.D.
And rock the masses,
from Madrid to Calabassas
Tijuana, Mexico,
bootleg demos in Tokyo
Then know me though,
'cause I be puttin' in work
Commit my life to rebirth, well respected,
'cause that's my word
I'm sure you heard,
about a new sound going around
She might have left my hood,
but she was born in my town

You didn't know, thought we was new on the scene
Well, it's alright! It's alright!
I know you know, I see you smiling at me
Well, it's alright! It's alright!

Boom! Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not, here comes the boys from the South.
Boom! Here comes the Boom!
How you like me now?
We rep. the South, so what you talking about
I'm not running off my mouth,
I know this without a doubt
'Cause if you know these streets,
then these streets know you
When it's time to handle business,
then you know what to do
Me and my crew, we stay true,
old skool or new
Many were called,
but the chosen are few
We rise to the top,
what you want?
Just in case you forgot
Rush the stage, grab my mic, show me what you got

You didn't know, thought we was new on the scene
Well, it's alright! It's alright!
I know you know, I see you smiling at me
Well, it's alright! It's alright!

Boom! Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not, here comes the boys from the South.
Boom! Here comes the Boom!
How you like me now?

Is that all you got? I'll take your best shot. X 9

Boom! Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not, here comes the boys from the South.
Boom! Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not,How you like me now?

Wes,

I'll have to try this one out. Yea know Wes because of you the police were over my apartment yesterday. I decided to play Same old song and Dance along with the CD and I guess I got a little carried away.

But it was fun.

What?

Heh, you can't leave us hanging like that. Details man! Details!

What amp do you use (just want to get an idea of the volume level)?

Wes,

I don't even think it was that loud. I was just playing along to a CD tryin to keep the amp and speakers about the same volume. I have a 100W Sony receiver volume about 40% and on the cheap 15W amp I was playing through the volume was about the same.

I think it's just a music hater or something...or maybe they're just bad guitar player haters.

But I don't care, I don't get a chance to plug in at home much and it was in the middle of the afternoon so I didn't figure anyone would have a problem.

Oh well...wait till they here BOOM

5years from now they'll be queueing for autographs......!!!

(Fingers crossed.............!!!!)

15 watts - I just got a 15 watt amp and haven't played it louder than "2" on the volume dial - but just wait till the neighbours start with the hip-hop/rap rubbish..........

See what it can do on "10"............
