A new offering for 2007.

Can't claim any fame for this, I've just cut and pasted and edited it a bit for speed. Well! why mess with something that's good.
I know nothing about the band "Deep Blue Something" This song seems to be a big favourite in our local pubs for open mic sessions. Heard it a lot at our local a few years ago. Everybody seems to have a go at it.
But I've always loved this song, so why not add it here! Fantastic for acoustic playing and probably good for sharing at a jam session so one of you can handle the solo while the other strumms out the pattern over it. Shall we try it next time Rodders?

While playing the D chord for the intro and verse,
lift up the middle finger place it back and place the
pinkie on 3rd fret (G) of the high e string before
playing the G chord.

Note 1: one quick stum for each: lifting the middle
finger, placing back, and the pinkie

Note 2: If you have an amp:-

add distortion on chorus

add delay/reverb on chorus

-----------------------------------------------------
INTRO: (D G A) x 2

VERSE 1:

You (D)say that (G)we've got (A)nothing in (D)common

No (G)common (A)ground to (D)start from

(G)And we're (A)falling (D)apart (G) (A)

You'll (D)say the (G)world has (A)come between (D)us

Our (G)lives have (A)come between (D)us

(G)But I know (A)you just don't (D)care (G) (A)

CHORUS:

And (D)I said what about (A)"Breakfast at (G)Tiffany's?

(D)She said, "I think I (A)remember the (G)film,

And as (D)I recall, I think, we (A)both kinda (G)liked it."

And (D)I said, "Well, that's the (A)one thing we've (G)got."

SOLO 1: (with D G A x 2 in backgound)

e|-----------------------------|
b|-----------------------------|
g|-----------------------------|
d|-5-5-5-4-2-4-0---------2-2-0-|
a|---------------0-2-2-4-------|
E|-----------------------------|

VERSE 2:

I (D)see you - the (G)only (A)one who (D)knew me

And (G)now your (A)eyes see (D)through me

I (G)guess (A)I was (D)wrong (G) (A)

So (D)what now? It's (G)plain to (A)see we're (D)over,

And I (G)hate when (A)things are (D)over -

When (G)so much is (A)left (D)undone (G) (A)

RepeatCHORUS, VERSE 1 and CHORUS

SOLO 2 (with D G A x 4 in background):

e|-----------------------------------------|
b|-----------------------------------------|
g|-----------------------------------------|
d|-5-5-5-4-2-4-0-----------2-2-0-----------|
a|---------------0-2-2-2-4-------0-2-2-2-4-|
E|-----------------------------------------|

e|-3-3-3-2-0-2-----------0-0-----------|
b|-------------3-0-0-0-2-----3-0-0-0-2-|
g|-------------------------------------|
d|-------------------------------------|
a|-------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------|

CHORUS x 2
SOLO 3 x 2 (with D-G-A in background of SOLO 3):

e|-3-3-3-2-0-2-----------0-0-----------|
b|-------------3-0-0-0-2-----3-0-0-0-2-|
g|-------------------------------------|
d|-------------------------------------|
a|-------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------|

Here as Youtube link of the song to give you all an idea:

Afraid there not much good closeup footage of the band playing on it

You know me Chris! I'm up for a go anytime
Haven't heard this one in ages, always makes me think of George Peppard and Audrey Hepburn which in turn makes me think of My fair Lady, which I saw on the goggle box this Christmas which made me think I can sing as well as Rex Harrison
Let me know when you want to come over.

Happy new year Chris.

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

Where you've got a D chord in the tab, in the intro and throughout the verses, sounds to me like the acoustic is playing

D/Dsus2/D/Dsus4/D......each time the D chord is shown....

D-------- xx0232
Dsus2 - xx0230
Dsus4 - xx0233

:D :D :D
