This time I show you a beautiful ballad taken off the last Bruce Dickinson solo album. Bruce is the lead singer of metal legends Iron Maiden and in his six solo albums has recorded several beautiful semi-acoustic songs, quite different from Maiden usual trademarks. His best known classic is “Tears of the dragon”, an epic ballad from 1994's “Balls to Picasso” album, a tune which entered UK and European Top 40 and US Top 40 radio airplay charts: unfortunately I'm not still able to play it (it is mainly arpeggiated) so i'll post in the future. Ok enough talking let's go back to the Navigates the seas of the sun” tune. The song is mainly based on two different chord progression (G, Am, Am, Em or Em, G, G, Am), only in the bridge and intro there is a bit more complex progression (Bm, C, Em, D). I play Bm simply trasposing Am on the fourth fret and barring the second but I guess there are other ways to play it (check your chord books).

Chord changes and strummin: playing along with the cd I found out that this strummin pattern fits well, not sure it is 100% the same of the cd but it sounds good to my ears

D D du udu

play it for each chord. I'm not sure about beat resoultion but I guess that it is

1 = D
2 = D
3= du
4 = udu

There is a slight pause between the two big downstrum, and a shorter one between the du and udu parts of the pattern. If someone knows it, it is the very same pattern to play Oasis “Little by little”.

Ok here is the song and let me know about any mistakes

Matteo

p.s. I found out the chords in Internet, they seems me correct but check them anyway.
