A Bacharach tune so sweet you have to brush your teeth after singing it.
(I happen to have sheet music to it also, PM me if you're interested)

Some chords:
Fmaj7 x33210
E7sus4: 020200
Cmaj7: xx3200

Fmaj7
Why do birds
E7sus4 E7
Suddenly appear?
em7 am7
Everytime you are near
Fmaj7
Just like me

They long to be
Cmaj7
Close to you

Why do stars
Fall down from the sky?
Everytime you walk by
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you

F
On the day that you were born
Em7
The angels got together and decided
A7sus4 A7
To create a dream come true
F
So they sprinkled moondust in your hair
G
Of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around

||:Just like me
They long to be
Close to you:||

Enjoy :-)

One of my all time favorites, sappy as it might be. I made sure that the first chord book I got would have this song in it.

And by one of those strange coincidences.....

Just picked up the TV guide, it fell open on tomorrow's radio page.....and at 7pm tomorrow night, there's the first of a four-part series called "What the world needs now - The Burt Bacharach Story"....here's what the guide says...

Paul Sexton presents a 4-part profile of the much loved songwriter, who is now 78. Beginning with his early life in Kansas City, Burt recalls how his mother cajoled him into taking piano lessons. Apart from featuring famous Burt fans, such as Noel Gallagher, the series includes Burt's collaborator, lyricist Hal David, who helped him write many classics, including Close to you, The Look Of Love, Say A Little Prayer and Walk on By.

It's on at 7.00pm tomorrow night - check this post time, it's now 7.20 pm here.
