I've noticed quite a bit of Neil Young stuff already on here, but how about a beginners guide to Cinamon Girl. Probably my fav. Neil Young track.

This is courtesy of Nick aka "Wandoctor" aka "Disco Stu"
Here is the intro. I will tab the rest but it's just:

G

320003

Fadd9

xx3213

and

Dm

xx0231

Leave your pinky down on the change. Occasionally hammer on the pinky on the Fadd9.

Ol' Neil breaks into chunks of the intro between verses.

The strum pattern is the same as the intro throughout.

Okay, so this is easier than it looks. It's really only two and a half chords in the intro. G, C and C slid up two frets, which makes it a Dadd2add4 or something like that.

Go slowly and freely. If you want to play along with the recording Neil is tuned down a step, DGCFAD. I usually can't be bothered so I just play it in standard.

Code:

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +

Ahhh, that's Sugar Mountain, not to be confused with Cinnamon Sugar.

I can take a look at it, but someone will probably beat me to it.

Ah my mistake miss labled file  I've got your Cinnamon girl in drop D that David showed you but I can't find it. Must have lost it. Feel free to delete the post. Glad to see your lurking Nick! Miss you hanging around.

Well, that certainly explains why I couldn't get it to sound like Cinnamon Girl. Now if I could only figure out why I can't get it to sound like Sugar Mountain either. :?

Blame it on the lies that killed us, blame it on the truth that ran us down.
