Having been forced by my missus to watch Bill Elliott yet again.. I ended up getting Electric Warrior out of the LP pile and playing it for the first time in years and came up with this tab which was one of the songs of the movie.

Strumming I find D D Duuud works fine...

G Em
i was dancing when i was twelve(2x)
F C
i was dancing when i was ahh (2x)
G Em
i danced myself right out the womb(2x)
F C
is it strange to dance so soon
F C
i danced myself right out of the womb
G Em
i was dancing when i was eight(2x)
F C
is it strange to dance so late(2x)
G Em
i danced myself into the tomb(2x)
F C
is it strange to dance so soon
F C
i danced myself into the tomb
G Em
is it wrong to understand
G Em
the fear that dwells inside a man.
F C
what's it like to be a loon
F C
i liken it to a balloon
G Em
i danced myself out of the womb(2x)
F C
is it strange to dance so soon
F C
i danced myself into the tomb
G Em
but then again once more
G Em
i danced myself out of the womb(2x)
F C
is it strange to dance so soon
F C
i danced myself into the tomb

Hope you enjoy...

I've managed to avoid Billy Elliot so far....but I do have Electric Warrior on Vinyl, Cassette and CD....never got round to buying an 8-track cartridge player....

great song....never get tired of that LP....

Just a tip though, if you're posting songs and you want to get the chords lined up ABOVE the lyrics, write it out on notepad, click on the "Code" box to the right of the "Message Body" heading, cut and paste your tab, then click on "Code" again....

But if it's just straight chords, try putting the chord changes in brackets like so...

(G)I was dancing when I was (Em)twelve,
(G)I was dancing when I was (Em)twelve,
(F)I was dancing when I was (C)ahhh.........etc

:D :D :D

Hey, big T Rex fan here too!

Actually, as a teen I was a little obsessed with T Rex and Marc Bolan. So I understand all the kids who are hooked on Nirvana. :D

At one time I owned almost every T Rex recording. My younger brother still does. At present I have Slider and Electric Warrior.

Marc Bolan was a highly underrated player. He played fabulous rhythm and nobody but nobody had a vibrato like him.

There is a pretty famous group out of New York now called Mambo Sun, named after the 1st song on Electric Warrior.

Anyway, thanks, I'll have to try this later.

If you know something better than Rock and Roll, I'd like to hear it - Jerry Lee Lewis

I still own just about every release. Well... all the ones on vinyl, anyway.
