Ok everyone.
I'm always aware that as we get better at guitar, what now seems easy to us may not be to those just starting the same journey a while after us. So, here's a relatively easy one.
It's by Toploader and was very popular a few years ago.
This little gem is really good for practicing a switch to a Bm barre chord from an open D. In fact it's a good workout for repeat playing of a chord progression. Once you have it sussed it's the same "Em, A, D Bm" progression right through the song.
When you get to the fills I found it adds a nice dimension to the song if instead of strumming the fills, you pick each string of each chord in the progression. Also as you get more confident at the progression add some bass to it by catching the "low E" string as you strum each chord. This sounds great especially on the "Em".
Here it is then:
Intro :
Em A D Bm x2 (Piano run down D – Bm)
Verse 1:
We get it on (Em)most every night… when (A)that moon is big (D)and bright (Bm)
It's a supernatural (Em) delight… every(A)body's dancing in (D)the moonlight (Bm)
Fill :
Em A D Bm
Verse 2:
Everybody here (Em)is out of sight , they (A)don't bark (D)and they don't bite (Bm)
They keep things loose (Em)they keep it tight, (A)everybody's dancing in (D)the (Bm)moonlight
Chorus:
(Em)Dancing in the moonlight, every(A)body's feeling (D)warm and bright (Bm)
It's such a fine (Em)and natural sight, (A)everybody's dancing in (D)the
moonlight(Bm)
Fill :
Em A D Bm
Verse 3:
We like our fun (Em)and we never fight, you (A)can dance (D)and stay uptight (Bm)
It's a supernatural (Em)delight, every(A)body's dancing in (D)the moonlight (Bm)
Chorus:
(Em)Dancing in the moonlight, every(A)body's feeling (D)warm and bright (Bm)
It's such a fine (Em)and natural sight, (A)everybody's dancing in (D)the moonlight(Bm)
Fill :
Em A D Bm
Verse 4:
We get it on (Em)most every night… when (A)that moon is (D)big and bright (Bm)
It's a supernatural (Em)delight… every(A)body's dancing in (D)the moonlight (Bm)
Chorus:
(Em)Dancing in the moonlight, every(A)body's feeling (D)warm and bright (Bm)
It's such a fine (Em)and natural sight, (A)everybody's dancing in (D)the moonlight(Bm)
Repeat chorus and fade
Hope you all have fun with it.

The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
Cool Song!
I used to love this one, thanks Chris!
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming......
like the passengers in his car.
Chris,
Can't say as I've ever heard of Toploader. However, King Harvest had a hit with this song in the early 70's.
