Ok, what is the difference in the upper and lower case? Is the Uppercase a percussive?

Im not sure if it's standard to uppercase percussive notes, but in the context of this song, yes, the uppercased ones are percussive.

There are about five things to write songs about: I'm leaving you. You're leaving me. I want you. You don't want me. I believe in something. Five subjects, and twelve notes. For all that, we musicians do pretty well.

To make it easier it can be played all open chords as:
G / B7 / C / Cm

i thought the capital D meant a harder strum. What do you mean by precussive ?
A percussive is deading the string(s) with either your left hand or the heel of your right hand. The notes are not allowed to ring out. It is very distinctive in this song. Keep in mind that I am rather new to the guitar so someone else may be able to give you a better explination.
Not an easy song to transpose to open chords - about the nearest you'd get is C, E, F and Fm - with a capo at the 7th, you'd be back in the original key....

Hey all,
I 'm going to start working on this song tonight. Can anyone to me how fast/slow this song is? Is the pace steady throughout?
Thanks

hi 1st Act
Go into Google and type in "radiohead creep acoustic" and look for the animation by Low Morale. Apart from being an absolutely fantastic bit of animation, you have the bonus of being able to listen to the acoustic version of the song as well - win win!
i love that cartoon.
great song. I have been messing around with the top part of the barre (for instance on the G the 3554 part - ignoring the two treble strings) and playing around with picking patterns. This works pretty well with this song.
all the best
Matt
Thanks Mattguitar,
Real cool...and helpful too.

Sure you can play it open, in the original key without capo:
G [3 2 0 0 0 3]
B7 [x 2 1 2 0 2] or B [x 2 1 4 0 x]
C [x 3 2 0 1 0]
Cm [x 3 1 0 1 x]
To keep a somewhat sane melody in your chords you can drop the first string on all chords. I think you can replace the B with a Bm since you don't sing the third, don't have the song or a guitar with me so relying on memory here.
Bm [x 2 0 4 0 2] or Bm7 [x 2 0 2 0 2]
Looks like a good beginner barre chord song. Same chord shapes through out. I'll have to give this a try when I get home. I'm just now venturing into barres.
thanks
