You got Guitar Pro?
No

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

K. I don't know the song all that well. There are three user attempts at it. One doesn't even sound like music. I'll export the picking into standard ASCI so that you can read it. I hope either one works for you.

first one:
Don't Think Twice It's Alright

Bob Dylan's
"Don't Think Twice, It's Alright"

I'm interested also in the picking pattern for the song.
Thanks for any help.

Coming up as a song lesson (based on The Free Wheelin' Bob Dylan version) in the next week or two...

Peace

Thanks, Roy
And, DH,
the one from "FreeWheelin' Bob Dylan" album is EXACTLY what I was talking about. TYVM.
I know that is going to take a lot of time on your part . . .
. . . and even more time on mine to learn . . . but I'm getting to like fingerpickin'.

Very much appreciated,
KR2

I've been trying to work out the Allman Bros. "Little Martha" but there's a couple of places I'm unclear on. Was wondering if anyone has a decent tab for "Little Martha"?

'Nightlife' by Willie Nelson, anybody?

I found a tab for the way Willie performs it - but the version I'm after is something maybe only older players will remember.
Back in the 60's Chicken Shack had a hit with 'I'd Rather Go Blind' and the B side was an absolutely blinding bluesey version of 'Nightlife". it'd be fantastic if anybody's got it and could tab it...

I did a search and found a few other requests about You Don't Mess Around With Jim.

I cannot find a chord sheet or tab that does it justice. Only musicnotes.com has something that seems right... for $6.95 I may wind up springing for it.

http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0049775

Correction: sheetmusicdirect.com has the same tabs for .99 I got the two different copies for a total of $1.98. Can you go wrong? I'll see how they play.

All I have found on the 'net is stuff like this (sorry this post is so long). The chords are easy, but I can't quite figure out the rhythm. Sounds like it might be a blues shuffle (I have blues shuffles and 12 bar blues on the brain this week).
Verse:1
G
Uptown got it's hustlers, The bowery got it's bums,

42nd Street got Big Jim Walker,

He's a pool-shootin' son of a gun,
C
Yeah, he big and dumb as a man can come,

But he stronger than a country hoss,
D7 C
And when the bad folks all get together at night,
D7 C G
You know they all call big Jim "Boss", just because.

And they say.

Chorus:
C G C G
You don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind,
C
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger,
D7 G D7
And you don't mess around with Jim.

Verse:2
G
Well outta south Alabama came a country boy,

He say I'm lookin' for a man named Jim ,

I am a pool-shootin' boy, My name Willie McCoy,

But down home they call me Slim ,
C
Yeah I'm lookin' for the king of 42nd Street,

He drivin' a drop top Cadillac,
D7 C
Last week he took all my money, And it may sound funny,
D7 C
But I come to get my money back,
G D7
And everybody say Jack don't you know.

- REPEAT Chorus -

Verse:3
G
Well a hush fell over the pool room ,

Jimmy come boppin' in off the street,

And when the cuttin' were done,

The only part that wasn't bloody,

Was the soles of the big man's feet,
C
Yeah he were cut in in bout a hundred places,

And he were shot in a couple more,
D7
And you better believe,
C
They sung a different kind of story,
D7 C G
When big Jim hit the floor now they say

- REPEAT Chorus Change last word to SLIM -

Refrain:
G
Yeah, big Jim got his hat, Find out where it's at,
GG
And it's not hustlin' people strange to you,
G
Even if you do got a two-piece custom-made pool cue.

Final Chorus:
G7 C G C G
Yeah you don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind,
C
You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger,
D7 G
And you don't mess around with Slim.

I'm looking for an MP3 or backing track to this song? Anyone? Anyone?

I already have the tab/sheet music.

Thanks for any help.. this is one of those songs I've wanted to learn for so long.

http://www.guitarbt.com/index.php

They have a backing track for it...

Search youtube for the song and use http://vidtomp3.com/ to save as mp3

Can someone help me find the tabs/chords, and preferably help with the strumming patterns and fingerpicking patterns for the songs?

I was able to find the chords for Mira... but, as it is fingerpicking song, I have not been able to figure out a good pattern.

Thanks!

I can't find Leon Russell's Magic Mirror for love or money. Anyone got something on it? I understand it's out of print. I wonder why this is, Tightrope is still around. :?

Hi Could someone please tell me how to play this "easy" Bob Dylan classic.
Chords and strumming pattern would be great, or an mp3 of the stumming :D
I only song I can play is wish you were here, so I'd like to add another song to my collection.
I've only been playing for 6 to 8 weeks so you may have to dumb it down for me

Thanks Daza.

Try these. You can always search the Easy Songs Database, which is where the first one came from, there are 2 lists. One with alphabetized song titles and one with alphabetized artists, either of which will lead you to the song. Or you can do a general search of the site by using the little search box in the top right hand corner of the page.

Thanks I appreciate your help, and I would like to learn this song but I think I better start with the guitar noise easy songs list first cause he breaks it down in to seperate parts and i can listen to just the guitar strumming, also he is a brilliant teacher, wouldn't you agree? :)

Thanks Daza
