Slightly off topic Rod, but.....

"Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords.....blah blah....."

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Arthur get Excalibur out of a stone?

I believe he broke it once in anger, threw it into the lake and then had it returned all nice and shiney again :)

Sorry to go off topic. I promise it won't happen again

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

Hi David!

Realize you've been very busy and have a lot on your plate. Was just wondering if it will still be a while before you get a chance to look at this? Just curious, not impatient :)

How do you turn a duck into a soul singer?

I don't know if this is an easy song or not, but it is my "goal" song- the song I want to be able to just sit down and play. I have searched the net and this site for tab, but I can't find it.
I would love
"Mercy Now" by Mary Gauthier

you can listen to it at http://www.marygauthier.com

I am interested mostly in the acoustic part, not necessarily the solos.

Thanks in advance for making me the happiest girl in the world. This song is the reason I bought a guitar.

from Roscoegino:
There waqs a song put out by Jackson Browne and Clarence Clemmons as a duet. "You're a Friend of Mine", I think. Corny as the message might have been esp. in this day and age, I really liked it.

Anyone know the chords or at least point me to where they might be?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Peace

I would appreciate if someone had the time to tab out Rambunctious Boy by John Fogerty. I've looked everewere and all I can find is the chord progression but I would like the see the riffs too. I almost managed to figure out the solo myself but I can't figure out the riffs.

Thanks to anyone who wants to help.

I saw a version of this from a performance on a British television show, called the "Old Whistle Stop" or something like that. Unfortunately I did not play guitar at that time and did not notice much about the playing other than what seemed like a simple but great sounding backing on acoustic guitar.

That'd be Old Grey Whistle Test, which is sorely missed

There's a little (very little) background on it here, if anyone's interested...

There are like 2 floating around the internet and I can't make the intro sound right using either one... but that may just be my problem :?
Thanks in advance.

Is there any other forum which has a section like this one? Or maybe an intermediate song database? Overall, the instructions on this forum are top-notch and I have yet to find another place similar. Any links are greatly appreciated :)

I saw Tracy Chapman in concert about a year ago and she was supported by Ben Taylor (son of James). Ben played a song called 'Boyfriend' written by David Saw, a really fun song (the last section WILL make you laugh). I've searched the web and I have found the lyrics and sound clips but no tabs. It starts with a really good bass/bass/chord type thing - I'd love to be able to play it.

So, the link to hear this track is here: http://www.james-taylor.asso.fr/gallerie%20mp3.htm (scroll down until you find 'Boyfriend'). This page also has loads of James Taylor tracks, if you're interested.

If someone could tab this out I would be eternally grateful! It might also be a challenge to those of you that like to crack finger-picked songs. However, I'd settle for a reasonable chord version, my fingerpickings not up to much - but this song might be the one to change that!

Thanks,

Rich.

Here are the lyrics:

Ben Taylor – Boyfriend
written by David Saw

I see you standing there as I pass
I know that I'm the fool who makes you laugh
But I can't get the chance to tell you why
Cause your boyfriend's a really nice guy

I see you every weekend, you dress so fine
And I like to say that one day you'd be mine
But I can't see that day, I tell you why
Cause your boyfriend's a really nice guy

Now I'd love to hate him, I really would
But he always seems to treat you so good
And I'd love for him to be just another fool
But I talked him once, yeah and he seemed real cool

I guess I'm over you now because I'm fine
It doesn't hurt no more, I see you all the time
I still get jealous and I tell you why
Cause your boyfriend's a really nice guy

I love his hair
I love his eyes
I've only started to realize
It wasn't you I loved, it was other guys
That's why your boyfriend's a really nice…
Your boyfriend's a really nice…
Your boyfriend's a really cute guy

Ok can anyone help with this one.

This little gem was a massive hit here in the UK in the late 1970's around Christmas. That was the thing during those years, all sorts of music got into the charts and we all loved it at the time.

I'd love to learn to play it for a laugh at Christmas this year. It sounds easy but I can't find a tab for it anywhere. Plenty of sites offer the lyrics only

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rum2gea5dPI

I know you must already be thinking, or you have already decided that dogsbody has finally cracked. But I haven't, I just love all sorts of music.

Hope someone can help, if not enjoy the video.

Chris

The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
